Living on the Isle of Man we’re lucky to live in one of the best Dark Sky Sites in the British Isles.
When I was taking the pupster outside for her bedtime widdle last night, I looked up and there was Jupiter shining bright, alongside many stars that I do not know the names of. It’s a beautiful site and fills the soul. I wish I could bottle the feeling and drink from it when I feel low.
I have struggled a bit with this week's prompt . . . it was just a sea of faces . . . And although I haven’t managed to use the prompt as suggested, it has served its purpose (bear with me, it's a work in progress):
Laying down on the ground, with darkness around
I look up at the stars in the sky
Shining bright up above, filling me with their love
Sadness passed with the feelings to cry
Can good feelings please stay, for an hour or a day
Just like Jupiter glows way up high
Feelings bottled, feelings saved, for the times I am frayed
Looking up I take pause, then I sigh
In the company they keep, do the stars ever sleep
Are they lonely in their empty spaces
Yet I feel so alone, under stars that look down
They watch me like a sea of faces
