Katherine Crowe is just like you and me. Bloody hell, Katherine could be you or me. She has terminal inflammatory breast cancer. And she is dying.
Kath is open and honest about this foul disease. In my eyes she is brave, although she may not see herself as being brave. She is brave for sharing her story, carrying us all along with her on her journey, talking openly and honestly about the horrid things that cancer is doing to her body. Talking about dying. These are all things we don't talk about. And I think her honesty removes some of the fear. She has changed me and I am grateful.
The really gas thing in all of this is that I have never met Katherine. We live maybe 12 miles apart on this island. We have never met but I think about her often. She brings a smile to my face and an ache to my heart. She has spoken about the inevitable but I don't feel sorry for her. Pity is not what she wants or needs.
Katherine is a talented individual. Not only is she a wife and mum, she is a singer/songwriter. And full of life. And I hope she finds some comfort knowing that when her time comes her energy will radiate for all eternity.
You can help Kath's family by:
1) giving a few quid on her YouCaring fundraising page. I have added a link in the sidebar (over there --->>>).
2) buying a copy of her children's book DENZIL
3) check your boobs for lumps and bumps regularly
4) send healing light and love by meditating on her image
